La violoniste britannique Savitri Grier (née en 1992) a commencé à jouer du violon à l'âge de quatre ans. Elle étudie actuellement avec David Takeno et en même temps elle est étudiante en musique à Christ Church, à l'université d'Oxford.
Savitri a reçu le premier prix des concours « Tunbridge Wells International Young Concert Artists » (2010) et « Philomusica Concerto » (2012); plus récemment elle a été finaliste dans le concours « Royal Over-Seas League » (2014) et elle a participé à des masterclasses et à des festivals européens, dont « IMS Prussia Cove » en Angleterre et « Sessions Internationales de la Musique » en Hollande, pendant lesquels elle a étudié avec Ferenc Rados, Krzysztof Wegrzyn, Barbara Doll, Susan Tomes, Andras Keller et Ana Chumachenco, entre autres.
Savitri a fait son début au Royal Albert Hall en mai 2012 en jouant le concerto en mi mineur pour violon par Mendelssohn. En juin 2013 elle a participé à l'émission « In Tune » sur BBC Radio 3, en jouant sur le Stradivarius « Serdet » datant de 1666. Sélectionnée pour participer au festival de la musique de chambre « IMS Prussia Cove » en septembre 2013, elle a été invitée à y revenir en 2014. De plus, Savitri joue régulièrement en Grande Bretagne comme membre du Grier Trio. En Septembre 2014 elle commencera ses études de troisième cycle universitaire à l'école Guildhall à Londres, où elle continuera à étudier avec David Takeno.

Competition successes include 1st prizes at the Tunbridge Wells International Young Concert Artists Competition 2010 & the Oxford Philomusica Concerto Competition 2012; recently Savitri was a finalist in the 2014 Royal Over-Seas League Competition. She has attended masterclasses and festivals across Europe, including at IMS Prussia Cove and the International Holland Music Sessions, and she has studied with Ferenc Rados, Krzysztof Wegrzyn, Barbara Doll, Susan Tomes, Andras Keller and Ana Chumachenco amongst others.
Savitri made her Royal Albert Hall debut in May 2012 with a performance of the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto and in June 2013 was featured on BBC Radio 3's 'In Tune', playing the 1666 'Serdet' Stradivarius violin. She attended the invitation-only IMS Prussia Cove Open Chamber Music festival in September 2013 and has been invited back in 2014. Savitri regularly performs across the country as part of the Grier Trio. Savitri will be beginning her postgraduate studies at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, London, in September 2014, where she will continue to study with David Takeno.
