Erdem Misirlioglu a commencé à apprendre le piano à l’âge de six ans. Après avoir passé sa licence et sa maîtrise à l’école Guildhall, les deux avec mention, il y a récemment terminé son diplôme d’artiste sous la direction de Martin Roscoe et de Ronan O'Hora. Il a reçu un prix au concours international Rachmaninov pour jeunes pianistes (en 2006) ainsi que le Prix pour Piano (2006) et le Prix du Directeur (2008) au Guildhall. En 2008 il a également remporté la partie piano du concours BBC Young Musician of the Year et ensuite il a joué la Rhapsodie sur un thème de Paganini avec le BBC Orchestre National du Pays de Galles. En 2011 il a remporté le premier prix du concours de piano universitaire organisé par la Société Beethoven d’Europe.
Musicien de chambre passionné, il est membre fondateur du trio de piano « Isimsiz » avec Pablo Hernàn (violon) et Michel Petrov (violoncelle). En 2013 ils ont été sélectionnés par le prestigieux Young Classical Artist Trust, qui donne de l’assistance aux jeunes musiciens prometteurs. En 2015 ils ont remporrté le premier prix et le prix du public au concours international de musique de chambre à Trondheim. Erdem se produit regulièrement au Royaume Uni, dans des salles de concert telles que Royal Festival Hall, Barbican Hall, Snape Maltings, Cardiff Millennium Centre, et Wigmore Hall, et il reçoit de nombreuses invitations à jouer en Europe et aux Etats-Unis. Il a joué avec grand plaisir pour des pianistes distingués dont Lang Lang, Peter Donohoe, Paul Lewis, Aleksandar Madzar, et Stephen Kovacevich. Il a participé au festival Musique à Marsac en 2015 et c'est un grand plaisir de l'accueillir à Marsac encore une fois.
Erdem Misirlioglu started music lessons when he was six. Having completed his undergraduate studies and master’s course in performance at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, both with first class honours, he has just finished his Artist’s Diploma there, studying with pianists Martin Roscoe and Ronan O'Hora. In 2006, Erdem was a prizewinner in the International Rachmaninov Competition for Young Pianists and was also awarded both the Keyboard Instrument Prize in 2006 and the Principal's prize in 2008 at GSMD. Erdem won the piano section of BBC Young Musician of the Year 2008 and subsequently performed Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales. In 2011, he was awarded 1st prize in the Beethoven Piano Society of Europe's intercollegiate piano competition.
A passionate chamber musician, Erdem is also a member of “Trio Isimsiz”, a piano trio formed with friends at GSMD. In 2013, they were selected by Young Classical Artists Trust , the UK charity that helps build the careers of emerging classical artists. In 2015, they won first prize and the audience prize in the Trondheim International Chamber Competition
Erdem regularly performs across the UK, appearing in venues such as the Royal Festival Hall, Barbican Hall, Snape Maltings, Cardiff Millennium Centre, and Wigmore Hall as well as numerous invitations for concerts in Europe and America.
