Jean-Sélim Abdelmoula (1991) est un pianiste et compositeur suisse. En tant que soliste, il a joué dans de grandes salles comme la Tonhalle de Zürich, le Palau de la Musica de Barcelone, le Wigmore Hall et le Barbican Hall de Londres. Il a aussi été invité à se produire lors de festivals tels que les Ittinger Pfingstkonzerte, le Lucerne Festival, le Prussia Cove Open Chamber Music et le Banff Centre Artist Residency. Il a remporté de nombreux prix de piano et de composition, notamment le Prix culturel de la Fondation Leenards, le 1er prix du Concours d'Interprétation Musicale de Lausanne et le 1er prix du Edvard Grieg International Composer Competition. En 2014, il a été nommé Rebanks Family Fellow de la Glenn Gould School de Toronto et invité par Andras Schiff à donner des récitals dans le cadre de sa série de concerts Building Bridges, à Francfort, Dusseldorf, Bruxelles, Zurich, New York et Berlin. Ayant gagné le prestigieux Guildhall Wigmore Recital Prize, il a donné un récital au Wigmore Hall le 29 juin 2015.
Ses oeuvres ont été jouées par des musiciens dont Heinz Holliger, Antje Weithaas, Patricia Kopatchinskaja, Sylvia Nopper, Gilles Colliard et Einar Steen-Nokleberg, et par des ensembles comme l'Orchestre de Chambre de Toulouse, les Swiss Chamber Soloists, la Camerata Bern, le Zürcher Kammerorchester ou l'Ensemble Séquence. Son intérêt pour le cinéma l'amène à collaborer avec de nombreux réalisateurs. Il a signé notamment la bande-son de Chasse à l'âne de Maria Nicollier (en compétition officielle au Festival de Locarno et Best Short Film du London Film Festival 2011) et de Love After Sunrise de Hadi Ghandour, (primé au Los Angeles International New Wave Festival et au Norwich Festival).
Après un Master de soliste à l'HEMU de Lausanne dans la classe de piano de Christian Favre (2010), il se perfectionne à Londres à la Guildhall School où il obtient un Master en musique de chambre (2012) et un Artist Diploma avec mention (2014) dans les classes de Ronan O'Hora en piano et de Julian Anderson en composition. Il a suivi les masterclasses de Ferenc Rados, Andras Schiff, Denes Varjon, Mitsuko Uchida, Imogen Cooper, Stephen Hough, Angela Hewitt, Richard Goode et Leon Fleisher et il a reçu, pour la composition, les conseils de Heinz Holliger et de George Benjamin.
